📉 Has your LinkedIn engagement fallen off a cliff?
You’re not alone.
Even award-winning thought leaders, business owners and job seekers have noticed a drop in their LinkedIn performance lately.
(In fact, several high-profile retail influencers have migrated beyond LinkedIn to other platforms like TikTok and Substack since last summer in search of more online interactions.)
WHAT LINKEDIN WANTS
Let’s jump right in to what’s actually working on LinkedIn in 2026, according to the platform’s own experts, Yrbenka A. and Sarah Ohlson, during a fabulous webinar they held today.
📆 Consistency: Post 1-4x per week
🛑 Restraint: Take ‘er easy! Don’t post more than 1x per day
🌟 Quality: Don’t spam your audience by cranking out posts. Slow down and give them valuable insights they appreciate and can apply
🏆 Answer “How”: Skip the “I’m thrilled to announce …” Instead, walk us through how you solved a problem
❤️ Keep it real: Vulnerable posts outperform super-cerebral ones, so add some emotion*
🎉 Keep it really real: Show us some behind-the-scenes, unpolished, intimate (but not in the nude way) peeks at your business operations, workplace culture or industry events
👨🦰 Write for humans: Yes, SEO and GEO on AI platforms matter but humans matter more. Skip the keyword-saturated posts. Share like you’re talking to a friend
🧠 Get all nerdy up in here: Showcase your bounty of expertise. Proof of mastery is a powerful marketing tool
🎬 Variety is the spice of LinkedIn life: Dazzle your audience with an array of formats like text, photos, videos, documents, visuals and polls
🥇 Comments are gold: Starved for time? All good! Simply adding a thoughtful comment can drive impressions, so make this a regular habit.
[*True: My Father’s Day tribute was my top post last year. By far.]
These were only a small fraction of Yrbenka’s and Sarah’s practical tips from today’s session yet they’re a terrific reminder of the tactics to include for your 2026 LinkedIn strategy success.
